One of the most typical causes of stagnation is a common case of procrastination.
There is only one industry that I know of, that is thriving on our procrastination - the tea and coffee industry. Just think about it..
How many cups of teas or coffees have you made in order to avoid doing something?
It comes down to the simple paradox - we know what we need to do, but we don’t do it. There is nothing stopping us from taking action if not our own interpretation of reasons and excuses.
There is one subtle way of dealing with procrastination which is popular out there.
When you reach a decision, in that same moment you need to take the smallest possible action to initiation that decision.
Some suggest to use a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 method when you take few seconds, count back and then just get on with the task.
I think you should skip the counting altogether because a five seconds interval is a life time for your brain to process all sorts of reasons why should stop.
Don’t try to think it over. Take advantage of the chemical high in your brain. In that split second your mind and your body are ready to deal with it.
If you chose to postpone it for another time, trust me, you will make sure ‘another time’ never comes, intuitively.
