Pause is something we don’t have enough in our lives.. Nonetheless, it is necessary because it can give us a moment in which something, such as a sound or an activity, stops before starting again.
Pause can be innovative, dynamic and create a safe space for change.
The rhythm of our lives does not allow for frequent pauses though. We get stuck in a constant loop of firefighting, ticking one thing off the list and immediately adding additional three.
In the most turbulent moment a pause is exactly what needs to take place to clear the space for you to breathe, gain perspective, revalue priorities and grow your strength and energy to face what’s next.
Ask one question at a time. Start with: What’s on your mind?
And then pause.
Then, your second question should be: And what else? …
